About A&W

Climate Goals

Every workplace has its climate. It’s the atmosphere people function in each day. It’s how people treat one another and work together as a team.

At A&W, we know that a strong, healthy climate contributes to lower staff turnover and high levels of commitment and motivation. We also know it results in better customer service. To help us build a strong climate, we created the A&W Climate Goals back in 1977. They’re seven short statements that describe how we’ll work together to achieve our goals.

Everyone at A&W makes a commitment to these goals, and we get together twice each year to talk about how we’re doing, and how we can improve. We credit this process with creating and sustaining A&W’s open, candid, results-focused climate. This cooperative culture is one of A&W’s important competitive advantages, and we see the benefits every day.

5. We each do our part to ensure our success by winning customers and helping to make our restaurant(s) more profitable.

7. We support and challenge each other to work together as partners to create and achieve shared goals.
